Mrs.
Stiverson is honored to be the teacher of this amazing group of
students. We’re going to have a wonderful school year! Mrs.
Stiverson’s classroom is “The Race Room”. The 5th graders have started
their engines!
R = respect yourself and others
A = attitude, always have a positive one
C = cooperate and do your best
E = excellence, the key to success
Over
the course of our first few months of school, we will learn many
interesting and new things. For example:
· Reading:
we’re reading in peer groups, and the class is reading
Shiloh.
· Writing:
spelling, vocabulary, writing centers, and writer’s workshop
· Math:
place values, division, and multiplication
· Science:
astronomy, the study of our universe
· Social
Studies: exploring our United States, beginning with an imaginary train
tour of the Northwest
We
will be doing art projects, fund raisers, and going on field trips. The
year will be one of interesting study, growth, hard work, and great fun.
Of
course, 5th graders have homework, approximately three hours per week.
Turning in all homework assignments earns the student a 40 minute “game
time” every Friday afternoon.
Mrs.
Stiverson can be reached at 766-4781 between the hours of 7:00 am and
4:30 pm.
