Elementary
To do your best in each
area for speaking, you will want to check each of the boxes.
Ideas and Content:
- It is easy to see what
my main ideas are.
- I use details to explain
my main ideas.
- I choose ideas and
details that interest my listeners.
Organization:
- I have a well-planned
beginning.
- The order of my ideas
and details is easy to follow.
- I use connections to tie
ideas to together.
- I have a well-planned
ending.
Language:
- I use a variety of
interesting, colorful words to get my message across.
- I choose words that help
my audience understand my topic.
- I use words and grammar
correctly.
Delivery:
- I look at all of my
audience.
- I speak and pronounce
words clearly.
- It is easy to listen to
my speech. My voice is loud enough, not too fast or slow, and I use feeling
to express myself.
- My delivery is smooth
with almost no pauses or "and ums."
- I use body language
(gestures and facial expressions) to make my message interesting and clear.
