Activities & Announcements

 

Rummage Sale: There will be a rummage sale to help raise money for Camp Magruder on Saturday, April 3rd, from 9am-2pm. If you would like to volunteer or help out, sign-up sheets are posted in the school lobby. If you have items to donate, the drop-off will be Friday, April 2nd, from 2:45-7:00pm. Your help is greatly appreciated!!!

Booktalks: Students have until March 31st to give their March Booktalk.

 

Student-Led Conferences: Please start planning for upcoming student-led conferences April 14-16. Since your child will be in charge of the conference, showing you work that is being done in class, he or she will be required to attend the conference as well. Please let me know if you have any questions.

 

Girls on the Run: Girls have until March 29th to sign up for this great program that helps build self-esteem and fitness, which will be meeting 2 times a week. This program ultimately culminates in training for a 5k run. Check the web link here for more information.

Homework


This Week’s Homework:

-Homework Packets were sent home on Monday, March 15th, and will be due on Friday morning, March 19th.

Homework consists of:

        -Reading 20m. a night (Monday through Thursday), and recording it on the Reading Log

       -Spelling: This week's list is titled, Suffixes

            *Challenge List: for students who got 16 or more correct out of 20 on Monday's spelling pre-test:

                -each spelling word needs to be copied twice, put in alphabetical order, and put into sentences too

            *Regular List: for students who got 15 or less correct out of 20 on Monday's spelling pre-test:

                -p. 59-61, reading workbook; the list is on p. 273

        -Time For Kids: In the Headlines (students should have the issue of TFK to answer the questions on this page, Olympic Math

        -Packets should be stapled together

        -Parent signature on the Reading Log
