Parents rated educational enrichment and counseling equally, as the third highest priority while staff rated both technology and counseling as third highest. Student survey results found positive school-wide events and maintenance of school grounds to be their top priorities for spending. She announced that next year’s changes would include: addition of a half-time counselor position, an Alternative Education program at Cheldelin, one additional section at each grade level to maintain class sizes, and three periods of Math intervention classes.Dawn talked about the school-wide goals of increasing attendance and positive student behavior. School attendance is its highest in six years (almost 95%) and student referrals are down 40% from last year. In addition, Cheldelin’s curriculum on bullying and harassment has continued to increase student awareness and communication around these issues.
