Treasurer Report:
Lynn M. reported CPO checking account at $2518.00 and savings in the amount of $3544.00.Volunteer Coordinator:
Lezli W. is in the process of recruiting volunteers for Cougar Spirit Night and the track program.Chair Reports:
Cookie Dough Fundraiser: Sales were reported in the amount of $5307.00. CPO will receive 45% of the total sales and the cost of prizes will be deducted from that amount. A big “Thank you!” went to Heather W. for all her hard work. Community Partner Fundraisers: Heather W. reminded CPO that, in addition to Safeway, eScrip includes a wide variety of merchants. For more info, visit www.escrip.com8th Grade Party: Ariella W. reported that a d.j. has been hired. Four teachers have volunteered to be in the dunk tank at present, but they would like to see even more staff members participate. The 8th grade ceremony will take place from 6:30-7:20pm and the party will follow at 7:30pm. There is still a need for volunteers to chaperone students during the event.

: Laura K. reported that 23 flat screens have been ordered at $59.00 each and Linda M. will be in charge of disbursing product. There was discussion of the need for a person to replace Laura K. as HP representative in product matching for next year.Principal Report:
Dawn G. reported the following: The 7th grade is considering a field trip to Carmike Theater before the school year ends. The proposed budget for next year must be submitted to the District in April. Dawn encouraged parents to express their opinions in the Budget Survey which can accessed at our website: http://www.csd509j.net/cheldelin/index.htm Dawn continues to gather input from staff and parents (i.e. parent coffees) and will be presenting budget information at Cougar Spirit Night for interested parents.Enrollment estimates are at 604 students for next year, up from 589 this year.
A request was submitted to the Treasurer, totaling $675.00, for the cost of the school-wide Camfel assembly.
Guest Speaker:
Catherine VanWetter, MSW, and Educational Therapist spoke to CPO. She will be facilitating a six-week class for interested parents on understanding the teenager in your life and bridging communication between you and your teen, Tuesday, April 1-May 6, 2008 from 7-9:00pm at the Unitarian Church, Rm. 8, 2945 NW Circle Blvd. The cost is $180.00 per person or $275.00 if you bring a friend. Cheldelin Wellness Council Representative, Gigi Sims, reported on Cheldelin’ s SHI (School Health Index). Teams consisting of parents and staff have completed focus work on three components of a nationwide school health model. Examples of wellnessrelated strengths at Cheldelin were class sizes, peer mediators, the WEB program and curriculum on the issues of bullying and harassment. School wellness goals are targeted to be in place for January 2009.
