Absences: If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the assignment you missed. You may email me or have your parents contact the office. Please label all work you missed “absent”.
Assignments: Please have all assignments completed neatly in either dark pencil only. You will need to redo any assignment if it is written too small or light for me to read. Please use a spiral notebook for your daily assignments. Work should be neat, legible and show all steps. Each Friday we will have problem solving days. That work is to be done the notebook provided. This notebook is to be kept in the classroom bin unless otherwise instructed.

Extra Credit: I offer one extra credit assignment each month. These will count toward the homework part of your grade, not for tests and quizzes.
Grading: Each daily assignment will be worth 2 points. Quizzes are worth 10 points. Chapter tests are worth 25 points. The combined grading scale is below.
90 – 100% = A
80 – 89% = B
70 – 79% = C
60 – 69% = D
below 59% = F
Late Assignments: All work turned in late will receive 80% credit. At midterm progress reports you will have one week to turn in any missing work. You will also be given a printout with missing work two weeks before the end of each quarter. Please label all late work with “late.”
Progress Reports: I will give you a progress report on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Progress reports will show your current grade and what is missing. The date indicates the date the assignment was due. If you have questions at other times, please see me.
Tardies: You must be in your seat when the bell rings. If you come to class without a note from an adult, you will be considered tardy. After 3 tardies you will be given a noon detention. Each tardy after 3 is another referral. If you have a jammed locker, talk with me before the bell rings and I’ll call for a key.
Turning in Work: All work should be turned into the labeled wire baskets in the back of the room. Please do NOT hand it to me or put it on my desk. Either of these is a sure-fire way to make sure your assignment gets lost! Weekly assignments are due on Fridays. Please remove them from your spiral and staple them together.
What to Bring: Always bring your binder with your planner, pencil and grading pen. You may also bring your scientific calculator or you may use one from your table’s tub. Check outside my class to see if you need to bring other materials. Make sure you have your pencil sharpened before class begins. If you forget materials you are to use the ones from your table’s bin. Going to get a forgotten textbook is considered a tardy/unprepared.
