I've been running x-country for three years now, and every year we've had a pretty successful team.  During my Freshmen year (1998), we had probably one of the best teams on record.  Our varsity team - ( Scott Beyers, Jeremiah Sudyka, Scott Gatherum, Andrew Jones, Khan Gorlewski, Tim Martin, and Jared Hall ) finished 2nd in districts, so they all got to go to state.  In state we finished 4th in districts out of 30ish teams. Not bad.  Unfortunately six out of the seven guys were seniors, so we lost almost all our good guys.

So during the 1999-2000 season we didn't do as good as we hoped to. Finishing only 9th in districts and there for not qualifying to go to state.  We did have district and state champ, Scott Beyers still on our team, who was the only one to make it to state, leaving the rest of the team behind. (Varsity: Scott Beyers, Tyler Storie, Jake Lorence, Danny Jones, Lars Lofgren, Barry Wicks)

This year, 2000- 2001, we gained a lot of good, fresh kids, so we did a lot better.  But we still didn't qualify for state, finishing 3rd in districts and just barely being nudged out.  But still we had one man go to state.  Lars Lofgren.  He didn't do quite as good as he wanted to, but who cares? at least he got to go. (Varsity: Lars Lofgren, Jake Lorence, Danny Jones, James Roberts, Brandon Skylar, Tyler Storie, Nathan Merril, and Nick Leader)

Next year though, there's light at the end of the tunnel.  Look for us to be one of the top qualifiers at districts, and hopefully at state.
