Track was started early in march by about ten boys who went
out for cross country. This preliminary work uncovered two new track
men - Payne and Corbett. The final cross country run took place March
17, when Payne ran the 3 mile course in 16:25, two minutes faster than
the local record

Although very few men of last year's team are out this year, the pros-
pects are far from discouraging. The school schedule has been so full this
year that it was impossible to schedule any meets at home. Payne, Phil-
lips, Howard and Rearden were invited to represent CHS at the U of
O interscholastic meet at Eugene, May 15. Rearden winning his mono-
gram in this meet.

Most of the material that has turned out for track this year has been
experienced, but with this year's inexperienced CHS should turn out a
star track team for 1916.
