HP matching gift programs

Beginning November 5, 2003, Hewlett Packard employees can make a cash donation to support schools (K-12), and HP will match the gift. The maximum matching dollar amount from HP is $1,000 per employee. On November 5, 2003, HP employees can go to www.givingstation.com/hp and select the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation (Giving Station ID# 103784). If the employee wishes to designate a specific school and/or program, please list the school/program under "Charity Designation." These donations are made through payroll deductions. If an employee chooses to make a one-time gift, the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation will receive those funds in early February. If an employee chooses to have their gift withdrawn monthly from their payroll, the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation will receive those funds quarterly, beginning in May 2004. The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation receives a breakdown of donations by donor and charity designation, and the donations and matching gifts are distributed to the schools based on the designations.

Please complete the form below and return it to CHS by November 17 for inclusion in the December newsletter. Reward for return TI 83+ Silver Edition

My name is Kyle Levien and I am a freshman at CHS this year. On Sunday, Sept 28, my dad and I went to Office Max and bought a graphing calculator with the money I had earned this last summer working at OSU and doing odd jobs. I really liked my new TI-83+ Silver Edition. On Wednesday, October 1, three days later, after Mr. Corliss's B block class, I packed my stuff up and walked to my next class, which was in the Tech. bldg. When taking stuff out of my backpack I couldn't find my calculator! In a panic, I completely emptied my backpack and found a large hole in the corner of the section where my calculator had been.

It appears that someone picked it up. I have appealed to students, put up signs, and made announcements. If you have any information, please contact Mr. Locey, CHS Dean of Students, or the main office.

CHS reminds students to engrave or make some kind of mark on their electronic equipment for identification. You are encouraged to leave valuables at home. Examples: CD players, walkmans, and large amounts of money. If it’s necessary to bring valuables to school, check them in at the main office.
