Candice Freel  --  Softball Update

Candice has played softball for a season in Italy and the last two seasons (2007
and 2008) in the Netherlands, as well as one year in the Pros (National Pro
Fastpitch), and one summer for the famous (in the softball world) Stratford
Brakettes in Connecticut (also 2007).


Best year at Florida Atlantic University, Division 1, which was 2004.

             0.67 era (ranked 6th in the nation)
             17 shutouts
             3 saves, 260 innings pitched
             25 earned runs
             266 strikeouts
             .160 opposing batters’ average

   Honors:    Louisville Slugger/NFCA Second Team All Region 2004
            Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year 2004
            Atlantic Sun Conference All Tournament Team MVP 2004
            Atlantic Sun Conference All Conference Team, 1st Team 2004
            Highlights:  Regionals-Lincoln, Nebraska
            Threw an 11-inning no-hitter on May 5, 2004, against UCF;    
              18th in FAU history, but the first to go over 7 innings;
               had 20 K’s in the game.

            Also, Pitched the final 31 2/3 innings of the conference championship
            Including 3 consecutive shutouts with a 0.36 era.
