50-Year Reunion

August 17, 18, 19, 2007

 

Schedule of Events

Friday, August 17

• Check in at the Hospitality Room for reunion packets, directions, conversation and refreshments located at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2500 SW Western Blvd., 4th floor. The room will be open as early as possible (check-in governed by the Hilton management) until approximately 4:30 PM.

• Re-new friendships and make new ones at the Brandis Barn. A very informal Class of ’57 (and significant others) gathering for the purpose of socializing starting around 3:30 PM or whenever you can make it. Jack & Judi will be serving hamburgers, etc. around 5:00 PM. We will also have a cake to celebrate our 50th reunion. Look for signs to direct you to the parking area. Sometime after 7:00 PM Johnny Limbo & the Lugnuts, an outstanding musical group that plays songs out of the 1950’s, will entertain us. Saturday, August 18

• Hospitality Room at the Hilton Garden Inn open from 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM.

• Tour of the new CHS and a re-dedication of the speaker’s podium. Meet in front of the high school shortly before 10:00 AM.

• Golf tournament in the afternoon. Check with Brian Williamson in advance to register. (503-635-6604)

• Banquet at the LaSells Stewart Center (across from Parker Stadium). No-host social hour beginning at 6:00 PM; group picture at 7:00 PM; dinner at 7:30 PM with entertainment by Byron Walls (Class of ’55) following dinner. There will be more entertainment(???) and awards provided by The Wobbles (a geriatric version of The Wiggles) led by Linda Horton Henninger.

 

Dinner Menu

Salmon, Prime Rib
Roasted red potatoes, rice pilaf
Corn, green beans
Mixed green salad
Choice of two desserts

Sunday, August 19

• Picnic in the County Park at Adair Village. (A map will be in the Reunion Packet.) Lunch will be served starting at 12:30 PM.

Chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs
Potato salad, baked beans, pasta salad, fresh fruit salad.
Drinks also provided.

If you have joined the ranks of those with an email address since the last reunion, please send your email address to Mick Rusk at smrusk@cmug.com right away. Currently Mick has 96 names on the class e-mail mailing list – this is approximately 2/3 of the known class members. There is much information that goes out via email that those without an email address do not receive simply because of the cost involved. Email is free, postage is not.
