Games For Children's Parties

Topfschlagen -- Cover someone's eyes and have them hit a turned-over pot with a goody underneath.  Others may say "hot" or "cold".  The pot is placed in a new location every time.  People are turned around a couple of times after blindfolding.

Haenschen Piep mal (Johnny, go beep) -- blindfolded person sits down on someone's lap. asks the person "Haenschen, piep mal".  The person goes "piep" and the blindfolded person has to guess who it is.  A wrong guess means the person who is "it" has to try someone else.  People sit in a circle and change seats after the person who is "dran" has been blindfolded.

Ringlein, du musst wandern -- a ring is placed on a string.  Everyone except the "it" takes the string in his/her hands and moves the hands sideways along the string until s/he bumps against the next person's hands and then back until the hands meet and then outward again in a constant motion.  One person covers the ring with his/her hands.  People move the ring from one person to the next, so that it always remains covered by someone's hand.  SInce everyone's hands are moving it is not so easy for the person in the middle to spot where the ring happens to be at any time. S/he must guess where the ring is.  Whoever is 'caught' with the ring is "it".

Tie Gummibaerchen to a long string.  The children stand under the string, which is held at roughly face height by two adults.  The children try to eat the Gummibaerchen in front of their faces without being permitted to use their hands.  The adults may move the string up and down at any time.

Children sit around a table.  There is a hat, a scarf, gloves,...  They take turns rolling dice.  Whenever someone hits double sixes, s/he puts on the clothing items, takes a knife and fork and gets to try to open and eat a chocolate bar.  S/he may continue until the next one dials a pair of sixes, when the clothing items must be taken off, put on by the next child who may then continue working on the chocolate bar until the next one gets two sixes, etc.   You may try this with one die only, I forgot how much time is best for this.
