Kasseler mit sauerkraut 

(smoked port loin and sauerkraut)

2 lb pkg milwaukee sauerkraut

2 cups water

6 small onions (whole)

2 large raw potatoes (grated)

kasseler bones

pork loin

Sauerkraut: Put sauerkraut, water, and bones in dutch oven and bake in 325 degree oven for 1-1/2 hours. Then add whole onions and bake another 1/2 hr. Remove bones. Add grated potatoes and bake another hour uncovered (total baking time, 3 hrs.).
