During my freshman year I decided to try something new, something that would get me in really good shape, raise my self confidence and something that I thought I would enjoy, this something was wrestling. This will now be my 4th year wrestling at the High School level. Freshman year I wrestled novice loosing most of my matches at the 135lb weight class, my sophomore year I wrestled at 152lb winning a few more matches than my freshman year, my junior year I also wrestled at 152 placing in the district tournament and taking first for JV at the Cottage grove Tournament. |
For the past six years I have been practicing karate for Timberhill Karate Club, just recently receiving my black belt in June of 2001. I have participated in many tournaments including regional, national and international events. |
For the past 5 years I have been volunteering for Corvallis Fire Department
in a program designed for youth under the age of 18 who are interested in a
careers in the fire service or emergency medical service. We are trained in all
aspects of firefighting and are checked off on different types of equipment
use, including hooking up the hose to the hydrant, pulling pre-connects off the
engine, knowing where everything is on the medic unit along with many other
types of things. After taking many test and completing different classes we are
assigned a station and a shift responding on all their calls.

Above is a picture of me after coming back from a biking expedition.....it was kind of muddy out, also on the right is a picture of Mary's peak the highest peak in the Oregon coast range, it is also a great ride.
