Guidelines and Expectations
PST
Expectations:
1. Demonstrate appropriate behavior (see back) and use appropriate language at all times.
2. Come to class every day and on time - three tardies will result in disciplinary action, and ten unexcused absences may result in denial of credit.
3. Be positive and prepared.
4. Bring your binder to all classes every day.
5. If you have a question about your grades, please talk with us after class. (Grades will be posted every other week - please check them, as we are not perfect).
Work Policy:
Your grade will be based upon the following:
1. Daily Work - due in the basket by 3 PM on the due date. If it comes in one day late, it’s 30% off (please have an instructor sign your paper to verify that it was only one day late); if it’s more than one day late, it is worth no points. If you had an excused absence, you have one day to make up any missing work or tests. Please have an instructor sign your paper to verify excused absences.
2. Tests/Quizzes - retakes are allowed only for excused absences. If you skip during a test or quiz, you cannot make up the work.
3. Projects – need to be turned in on time; no excuses.
Late work:
1.
“Students are
responsible for making up any school work missed during an ‘excused’
absence. Arrangements for late
assignments should be made with the teacher(s) immediately upon the student’s
return to school…” (from the CVHS Student Handbook)
2.
All late work
must be made up within one day of the student’s return to school or the student
will receive a score of 0 (unless a special arrangement is made with the
teacher). Late work will be accepted for
excused absences only – unexcused absences will result in a score of 0 for any
work assigned or turned in on that day.
Appropriate Behavior
For this part of your day, being a PST student is your job. As with any other job, you are expected to be respectful, responsible, and safe at all times.
