Jeanne Holmes

Jeanne Holmes joined the Corvallis School District in 1990 and has served in many roles in the district over the past 20 years -- family education specialist, parent involvement specialist, family services coordinator, communication specialist, assistant to the superintendent, human resources director, and most recently, assistant superintendent.

During her 35-year career in education, Jeanne has taught preschool and elementary school in Gainesville, Fla. and locally, in Albany and Corvallis. She co-authored the Good Housekeeping parent guidebook “Battles, Hassles, Tantrums and Tears.” She also has led parenting and conflict resolution workshops both locally and nationally.

Jeanne attended San Jose State University for two years and then completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida. She earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Florida in 1975.

Jeanne enjoys reading, gardening, singing and learning to play the piano. In the summer she spends time camping, and especially loves floating on water in any kind of small boat -- canoe, kayak, or raft.

Jeanne’s husband John Swanson, is a mental health counselor in private practice. Both her children attended Corvallis schools. Her son Andy, who graduated from the University of Oregon and attended the Southwest School of Law, is a lawyer working for the State of California and her daughter Anna, who graduated from Oregon State University, works as a financial services consultant.
