Assistant Superintendent
Jim Hogeboom
Graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Political Science, and received his
teaching credential and masters degree in Education Administration from San
Francisco State University. Jim taught social studies in high school in Marin
County, and was also in charge of student activities and staff development. From
there he served as a middle school assistant principal at Hill Middle School
before having the chance to become a middle school principal in Roseville and
open up a brand new middle school in 2000. From there Jim moved to Oregon to his
present position as Assistant Superintendent of the Corvallis School District,
where he is in charge of daily operations and oversees curriculum and
instruction.
Jim has also gained valuable educational experience in educational reform measures during his career, and has worked at the California Department of Education, the Bay Area School Reform Collaborative and the California Center for School Restructuring. He is most interested in creating systems to facilitate improved student learning, and his passion is around issues relating to teaching and learning. He has a wife Gwen who enjoys building and designing new homes, and has a daughter Alaina aged 10 and a son Jack aged 8. Jim participated in Leadership Corvallis last year.
