Boundary Review Subcommittee

Corvallis School District has declined in number of students for the past fourteen years.  This smaller population led to the closure of three elementary schools (Harding-2002, Fairplay-2002, and Inavale -2006) and consolidation of two middle schools (Westland and Highland-2002).   We currently have some schools that are crowded and some that are underutilized.  With the down-sizing of our facilities, the district needs to set new attendance boundaries to better match with projected enrollment and school capacities.

In May 2007, Superintendent Dawn Tarzian appointed a 15-member Boundary Review Subcommittee to advise her regarding school boundary changes for 2008-09 school year. This group works as a subcommittee of the Long Range Facilities Master Plan Task Force (LRFMPTF).

After receiving the committee’s recommendations, Superintendent Tarzian will make a recommendation to the School Board.  The final decision about attendance boundaries will be made by the School Board.
