Budget Committee Meetings & Minutes

May 15, 2006  7:00 p.m. in the District Office Board Room at 1555 SW 35^th Street.

The Budget Committee received the Superintendent’s Budget Message and an overview of the budget. New this year is the Community Guide to the Budget that is intended to help citizens know where their tax dollars are spent.

May 22, 2006 7:00 p.m. in the District Office Board Room at 1555 SW 35^th Street.

The Budget Committee heard from the public regarding the 2006-07 Recommended Budget.  Each community member had up to 3 minutes to provide feedback on the budget recommended by the Superintendent.  Following public testimony, the Committee heard reports on the Student Services budget and District Vital Signs.  They also discussed the Local Option Levy that is scheduled for a community vote in November.  Further discussion of the budget occurred at this meeting.

At this final Budget Committee meeting, the Budget Committee determined whether adjustments were needed before approving the budget and tax levies.  They also suggested areas for more in-depth review by an interim committee and debriefed the budget process for 2006-07.  Further discussion and recommendations about the Local Option Levy occurred at this meeting.
