Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program

Your child may be eligible for free or reduced-price meals

The Free and Reduced-Priced Meal Program is a federally funded program to ensure children from households that meet federal income guidelines have access to nutritious meals while at school. This program is completely confidential.

It is important to remember that Free and Reduced Meal applications must be filled out every year, unless you receive a letter that your child has already been approved for the current year. If you do not receive a letter for each student in your household, please contact Marv at (541) 757-5903. Use one application for all of the students in your household. Children from households that receive Food Stamps or TANF benefits are eligible for free meals. All Foster children are eligible for free meals. An application still must be filled out and submitted.

Children from households that meet federal income guidelines, are determined eligible for either free or reduced-priced meals. Thanks to the Oregon State Legislature, students who qualify for reduced-priced meals can have breakfast at no cost. Reduced-priced  lunch is still $.40. This will help parents save money and give children the nutrition they need to be successful in school.

Applications are made available to every child at the beginning of each school year. One application per household (including all school-age children) is all that needs to be filled out. You may apply online here or pick up an application at your school office or through the Food and Nutrition Services Department.  A new or revised application can be submitted at any time during the school year. So if you are not eligible now but have a decrease in household income, an increase in household size, or become unemployed, fill out an application at that time.

Paper applications are available at any school office and on this website. Spanish applications and information are also available.

If you have application questions or any question regarding this program, please feel free to contact Marv Newcombe at the School District Food Service Office at (541) 757-5903.
