Corvallis School district 509J

Food Services

About Our Program

Our schools serve nutritious meals daily that meet requirements established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It is the intent of Congress and this district (through our choice to participate in the Federal School Meal Program) that nutritious meals be available to all school children regardless of the household's ability to pay. Income guidelines are set by the federal program from which we determine if families qualify for meals either free or at a reduced price.

Program Objectives

  • To ensure that all students have affordable and nutritious food offerings.
  • To promote nutrition education for life long health habits and readiness to learn.

Computerized Lunch System

The District's computerized meal program works on a debit system. All students have an account on the computer. Money is deposited to their account. As the student goes through the meal line, their meal (or purchase) is recorded and appropriate amount deducted from their account based on their approved status of Paid, Free or Reduced-price. This information can be retrieved at any time.  Parents can place restrictions on their child's account by contacting the school kitchen manager.
