Nutrition Information
Healthy Meals = Healthy Kids
Children who eat a nutritious breakfast and lunch every day do better in school and are less distracted.
Our students health and wellness are of utmost importance. We have made many changes to our meal offerings to increase nutrition above State and Federal regulations, as well as increasing taste. It is important to offer foods that students love but don't realize are more healthy for them.
State and Federal regulations mandate nutrition requirements. The goal is to provide at least 1/3 of the recommended daily allowance at lunch and 1/4 of the daily allowance at breakfast for children of the various age groups. The menus are designed to meet 30% or less calories from fat with 10% or less from saturated fat while still maintaining the calorie recommendation for the age group. Protein, calcium, iron, vitamins A and C are also analyzed for the week's average.

Availability - We attempt to make sure
all menu items are available when students go through the line.
However, forecasting efforts to control waste and the fluidity
of student choices may mean that some food items may run out.
This is why we offer a variety of choices.
Every month we highlight a new Pick of the Month fruit or vegetable on our lunch menu. This is decided through the Fruit & Veggie Promotion group, so that area organizations promote local fruits and vegetables in their meal planning while encouraging healthy eating.
