Library Skills

Library skills equip students with the tools to implement the Research Process, as well as provide for self-directed life-long learning, whether for school, business, or pleasure.

In this Age of Information, students learn from a variety of sources. Students must construct meaning from vast, disparate sources of information. The library is the inquiry center for this information gathering. The ability to use library resources is key to "learning how to learn" in this information-rich world.

A group of Corvallis School District teachers and staff members collaborated to produce these lists of essential library skills at benchmark levels.
