Corvallis School District
Instructional Literature List ~ 1999-2001
Grades 11 and 12

Agreements For Using Specific Literary Works

Teachers are asking for clarity around the novels and reading materials used for reading and literature instruction and assessment at the various grade levels. In response to the request from teachers, the following is a composite list of district-wide agreements around the use of designated instructional materials in the Language Arts program.

The agreed upon list of works is reserved for instructional and assessment use at the stated grade level. Teachers at other grade levels are to avoid direct instruction and sharing of the works which appear on the lists for grade levels beyond the ones they teach. Teachers may draw from lists for grades prior to their own, provided they consider the instructional validity and the need to avoid unnecessary repetition.

Final approval of these Literature Lists was given by the K-12 Principals and Instructional Facilitators in June of 1999.  These literature lists will be updated every 2-3 years.
