Children can have a free nutritious meal while school is out during the summer with the Summer Meal Program During the school year, many children receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch through the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs. What happens when school lets out? Hunger is one of the most severe roadblocks to the learning process. Lack of nutrition during the summer months may set up a cycle for poor performance once school begins again. Hunger also may make children more prone to illness and other health issues. The Summer Food Service Program is designed to fill that nutrition gap and make sure children can get the nutritious meals they need. - Oregon Department of Education The goal of the Corvallis School District is that no child goes without a meal during the summer, when school is out on break. All children 18 and under are eligible to participate regardless of household income. All meals must be eaten on site.
Parents & Guardians may eat, too, (provided all children receive a meal) for the nominal cost of $1.75 for breakfast and $3.00 for lunch. Please bring exact amount, as we cannot make change.
Local fruits and vegetables will be offered when available. You are welcome to eat at one of the following locations and service times. There is also a map of locations available HERE.
