Corvallis School Board

The primary role of the Corvallis School Board is to establish policies and programs which will promote student learning and prepare students for life after graduation. This is accomplished in partnership with the schools superintendent and district staff who implement policies and programs, and through sound fiscal management of the school district’s resources.  Board members are elected from the district at large to serve a term of four years.

Interim Term Appointment: September 14, 2015 - June 30, 2017

Qualification requirements and application information is available here. In order to be considered, applications must include all of the requested information and be received by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2015. Applicants bear sole responsibility for ensuring that their application is complete and submitted on time. Applicants are required to attend the September 14, 2015 School District Board of Directors meeting and participate in the selection process; failure to attend or participate will eliminate an applicant from the process. The Board will conduct the interviews, deliberate, and vote during the public meeting.

If an applicant is selected and desires to remain in position #6 beyond June 30, 2017, they must file for the May 2017 election by the statutory deadline through the Benton County Elections Department. There is no guarantee that the interim appointee will be elected by the public.
