Kindergarten students begin with a “gentle start” the week of September 7-13. Your child’s teacher will meet with you and your child to ensure a welcoming and successful beginning to their student experience. Parents with kindergarten students should call their school office to find out what day and time their child is to arrive at school the first time. All Kindergarten classes will be in session by September 14. More information about "gentle start"

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what school my student should attend?
If your student is not yet registered for school, please review the Corvallis School District's school boundary area maps. School registration takes place in person, at your child’s school.
When can my child register for classes?
Elementary students new to the district may enroll at their boundary area school at any time during regular office hours before school begins. Parents are asked to bring proof of their child's age and address and a record of their immunizations.
Middle and high school students may register according to the posted schedules. To use resources efficiently, registration packets for high school students are not mailed and must be picked up at their school on the following dates.
Where can I find my child's bus schedule?
Bus information is available on the school district's Home to School Bus Routes page. A new parent lookup tool is available here. Routes also will be posted at each school.
What do I need to know about school lunches?
Breakfast and lunch prices increased by $0.25 for all levels. Complete information about costs and how food services are offered is available on the Food Services page.
How do I know if I qualify for the Free and Reduced Price Meal program, and where do I sign up?
The guidelines for participating in the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal program are available here.
Students qualifying for the reduced price program will be provided breakfast at no cost.
What school supplies will my child need?
Elementary and middle schools develop supply lists according to each grade level -- please check the following links for items your child will need. High school students should check with their individual teachers for a list of supplies they might need. (If your school is not listed below, call the school office for more information.)
Fall sports teams (football, volleyball, cross-country and soccer) at both high schools offer an optional conditioning week August 10-14. Fall sports practices and tryouts begin on August 17. Student athletes must first be cleared for participation by turning in the necessary paperwork, including an emergency information card and a signed code of conduct form. Each school's forms can be downloaded from the athletics section of the school's Web site -- the links are listed below.
Athletic fees also must be paid. The first and second OSAA sports fees are $150 each; a third sport costs $100.
All freshmen, juniors or new students need a physical exam prior to beginning practice. Sports physicals will be available at the following times:
Corvallis High School: August 13 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm for a fee of $30; scholarships available
Crescent Valley High School: August 16 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, free; donations go to the CV football program
For more details about high school athletics, visit each school's Athletics Department web page:
Parents are invited to come meet their students' teachers and school administrators, tour the school, and learn more about their school's curriculum and unique features.
