Families new to Corvallis may enroll their children in the Corvallis School District simply by visiting their neighborhood, or boundary area school during regular office hours to fill out a student registration form. At the elementary level, parents will be asked to provide a copy of their child’s birth certificate, and at all grade levels, immunization records. Some schools also may ask for proof of residency (e.g., a driver’s license, rental/homeowner agreement, utility bill).
If you’re not sure which school boundary area you live in, you may call the district office at 541-757-5811 to find out where to register your child, or go to the School Boundaries page.
Students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 to enroll in kindergarten.
If a student is transferring from another school district, it’s helpful if parents can provide a copy of their last report card at the elementary or middle school level, or a copy of their last unofficial high school transcript. The school office will send a request for your student’s academic records to the school he or she attended before moving to Corvallis.
The school will provide families an information packet about their school site, programs and policies; the school calendar; transportation services; the Free and Reduced Price Meal Program; opportunities for parents to get involved; and many other resources that will help them get connected to their new school.
