Corvallis Online classes are for students with the following needs:

- scheduling conflicts
- acceleration or remediation
- medical needs
- preference for self-directed style learning
- home or private schooled students
- make up credit

Placement is subject to counselor approval.

How do you register for a class?

In-District Students: Please contact the counseling department at your school. 

  • Discuss whether an online course is right for you. Use the information at this web site to determine if you are a match for taking an online course: http://www.waol.org/prospective_students/isonlineforme.aspx.
     
  • Fill out a online course registration form that you may also pick up in the counseling office.
     
  • Return the completed course registration form with parent/guardian signature to the counseling office.
     
  • After your registration form has been processed, the teacher of the course will contact you with class information.

What does it cost to take a class?

During the school year, September - June, classes are available at no extra charge (up to 7 total credits per year with counselor approval) to students living within the Corvallis School District boundary area. Home school students who wish to take courses can register for one to five courses per semester. District and private school students can register for up to 7 total credits (including their regular school credits).  

Those students wishing to take an online course in addition to their 7 credits may pay tuition at a cost of $225/ 0.5 credit and $295/ 0.5 credit for math.

How are the classes graded?

Standard letter grades are issued unless the student specifies a desire to be graded on a Pass/No Pass basis. Any decision to change the grading format must be made within the first 4 weeks of the start of classes.

What if a student lives outside the Corvallis attendance area?

Courses are available at the per credit fee listed on the registation form,
Student support by district personel is not available.
