Network Folder Access

Here are our common network drives.  They are accessible from outside our network via a secure connection.  You may click on one of the below links (from within Internet Explorer only) to open one of the drives, and when prompted for username and password, enter 509j\<your username> (must have the "509j\" at the beginning of your username!)

You can create a permanent connection to one of these folders in Windows ME, 2000, XP, Vista and 7. Here are the steps:

ME, 2000, and XP:

  • Open My Computer
  • Select My Network Places
  • Choose "Add a network place" from the "Network Tasks" window on the left, click Next
  • Select "Choose another network location", click Next
  • Enter the path to folder you wish to connect to (see path's listed above)
  • When prompted for username and password, enter 509j\<your username> (must have the "509j\" at the beginning of your username!)


Vista & 7
:

  • Start -> Computer
  • Click on the "Map a network drive" button
  • Click on the link titled "Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures."
  • Click next, highlight "Choose a custom network location" and click Next
  • Click cancel if prompted with a "Connect to the Internet" window and then click Next on the previous window.
  • Enter the path to folder you wish to connect to (see path's listed above)
  • When prompted for username and password, enter 509j\<your username> (must have the "509j\" at the beginning of your username!)


Mac
(10.4 and higher)

  • Click on Go -> Connect to Server
  • Enter the path to folder you wish to connect to (see path's listed above)
  • When prompted for username and password, select "Registered User" and enter your username as you would when you login to your work computer and/or email)
