Community Vision For Education
The Corvallis Community Vision for Education
represents the feedback of more than 1,300 community
members about what kind of education Corvallis
should offer its students.
Diversity and Inclusion Study
A Diversity and Inclusion Committee has worked since
the fall of 2008 to identify challenges and
opportunities within the Corvallis School District
related to providing a safe and welcoming
environment for all students, families and staff.
On June 21, 2010, the committee released its diversity
action plan designed to support school cultures that embrace
diversity and inclusion and ensure all students have
access to quality educational programs. A new
Diversity Action Plan Advisory Council will begin to
support the implementation of the diversity action
plan during the fall, 2010.
Instructional Time Study
The Guiding Team for Instructional Time was convened
in January, 2010 to study how the instructional time
at Corvallis and Crescent Valley high schools can be
used more effectively to assure every high school
student is successful. The team has been charged
with studying the schedules of high-achieving
schools to determine their impact on student
learning and seeking input from students, parents,
teachers and other school staff to develop a
recommendation for a common high school schedule
beginning in 2011-2012.
Strategic Work
Plans
Each year a strategic work focus outlines the work
to be done in the school district during that
particular school year to implement key
recommendations found in the Corvallis Community
Vision for Education. Strategic Work Plan 2010-1011 (Draft copy to be

Sustainability (Coming soon)
A Sustainability Steering Committee guides the
district's efforts to practice and teach the concept
of sustainability to assure that current and future
generations of students will enjoy a healthy
environment in which to live and learn.
