Welcome to Mountain View Elementary!  Whether you are new to Mt. View or are a returning family, you are in for an excellent 2011-12 school year experience.  Our school sets on 20 acres in the beautiful north hills of Corvallis, Oregon.  We are a K-5 school of 330 students and 38 staff.  We are proud to report that our students continue to meet and exceed the national and state standards.  You will find our school community to be friendly, safe, and welcoming.  Our team of highly qualified staff,  involved parents, and supportive community provide a nourishing learning environment for the growth and development of our children.

Mountain View is an RTI school (Response to Interventions).  Grade level teachers meet frequently with our reading coach to review each student’s progress and to review program effectiveness.  We strive for consistent academic progress from each student.  Research-based behavior and academic interventions are taught to children.  We provide a well-rounded education by offering music, physical education, library, and technology.  With funding from PTA, we provide artist-in-residence and naturalist-in residence—using our natural wetlands as a classroom for hands-on learning.

Please participate in our school by joining PTA.  Our PTA offers enrichment activities for students and families throughout the year, such as: Reading Night, Math and Bug Night, Jog-A-Thon and many others.  Perhaps Site Council may interest you.  Our Site Council is a team of parents and staff that help us move forward with school improvement.  (See link on website.)  Whatever your interest or time, there is a place for you at this school to contribute to the learning experience of your children.
