Community Vision Revealed — March 13

The initial findings of The Corvallis Community Vision for Education project will be shared in a public forum on Tuesday, March 13 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Corvallis High School. This forum will also provide an opportunity for community members to give feedback on emerging themes.

The goal of the Corvallis Community Visioning Process is to identify what the community values and to align the targets for student outcomes with those values. From November 2006 through May 2007, the district hosted over forty forums. Facilitators gathered input from parents, teachers, business leaders and community members on key district issues. District initiatives, school improvement plans, professional development opportunities, and identification and allocation of resources were determined relative to their place in achieving the community’s vision for quality education and the resulting impact on student success.

In May 2007, a Synthesizing Group of representative staff and community members will present the findings and unveil its newly formed vision and mission along with a set of recommendations for the future of our schools.
