I Am From...

I am from my dog, so delightfully dumb
I am from my cat, a jolly good chum.
I am from the bookshelves, so packed and so full,
I am from the TV, commercials so dull.
I am from the computer, Google pictures of a cat,
I am from the telephone, call up some friends and have a good chat.
I am from the table, put items on me,
I am from the couch, take a nap. Zzzz.
I am from the window, why not take a look,
I am from the bed, relax, read a book.
I am from cherry trees, petals are soaring
I am from flowers, colors so vibrant, not very boring.
I am from the deer, take a mighty leap,
I am from the scratched rail post, cat claw marks are deep.
I am from the trees, leaves are descending,
I am from the bushes, bees are ascending.
I am from the trees, the sweet smell of pine,
I am from apartments, which one is mine?

Late

Open the door
Down the hall
Up the stairs
Off the walls
Around the corner
(And accidentally hit my friend)
To the locker
Release the lock
Grab the text books
Pick up the binder
Slam the door
Off to the classroom
Through the door
Into my seat - Ding!
There is time no more
I'm not late - I think.

Ocean

The salty waves
Crashing on the sandy beach
Seaweed washing up.

Life
(Note:  this poem was composed of words cut
from newspapers and magazines)

Giving up, don't even think about it.
Today dig deeper
Live life loud
Crown today with winner thoughts
Take bold stroke
Purely love your life!

Black Canvas of Light

The night is a black canvass
All covered in light
The colors fall down
The strings all drawn so tight

But the dark is not just darkness
The sky is not just black
The stars shine so brightly
Like the point on a tack

The starry flamed lights
Point the dark sky
What vibrant the colors
With all of the others

With a sky of flames and fire
The night's black canvass
Paints
A desire

Giving Up

Every time you go past me
I get a sudden chill,
Because this is so different,
The way you make me feel.

Every time I see you
You always wear a frown,
And I just want to turn
Your frown upside down.

Every time I talk to you
My heart skips a beat,
But I'm backing down
I'm in defeat.

Every time I admit
That you don't like me,
I get so sad
Because I just want you to be with me
And see me as me.

So I'm giving up
And don't come near,
Because if you do
I'll burst into tears.

So just stay away
And I'll be fine,
And I'll admit
That you aren't mine...

Give It All You Got

When you love a sport,
Have passion for what you play.
Give it all you got,
There's only one way.

Give it all you got
All your speed or your skill.
You can succeed
If you have the will.

Give it all you got,
Go for the gold.
That kind of award
Can never be sold.

Give it all you got,
Never slow down.
If you keep on going
You'll win the crown.

And when it's up to you
Or you're put on the spot.
Never give up,
Give it all you got!
