Who do I call if my child will be missing school?

Call the attendance hotline: (541) 757-5988

When your child is absent for either a full or partial day, it is very important to report the absence to the office by 9:15 am the day of the absence. In the interest of student health and safety, the office staff will phone parents or contacts who have not reported to us.

When leaving a voice message, please include 1) your name, 2) student's name, 3) teacher, and 4) nature of the absence. If you are prearranging an absence for another day, please include the date of the absence. As always, you are welcome to phone Myrna Campbell or Heather Reich at the main office number (541-757-5987) for assistance.

Emergency information/school closures

Know What to Do About the Flu

Back to school time brings awareness of flu exposure and prevention. More information about preventative care can be found at the web sites listed below.

* Cover your cough
* Wash your hands frequently
* If you have a fever, stay home for at least 24 hrs after that fever has ended
* Get a vaccine when it becomes available

Oregon Department of Education Information has information about how Oregon will respond to the flu. New approaches will be used to respond to flu cases in school.
Here are two fliers (one in English and one in Spanish) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with swine flu information.

 Additional Swine flu information from the National PTA.

What time school starts/ends

The doors open at 8:05 and class starts at 8:15 a.m. Morning kindergarten ends at 11 a.m. and afternoon kindergarten starts at 12 p.m. Wilson's gym will open at 7:30 a.m. for early drop offs. This is a supervised time for homework and quiet reading. Parent volunteers are welcome (and needed) to help kids with their homework and to read out loud to a group. School ends at 2:35. Kindergarten - 2nd grade tend to be let out through the South door. 3rd - 5th graders usually come out of the front entrance. You may want to share pick up with someone else or come early. The parking lot fills up fast.
