Accurate and timely financial reporting is an essential ingredient in providing information to the school board as well as the public.
The district’s financial statements are audited annually by an independent firm of licensed certified public accountants, with the firm of Pauly Rogers & Co., P.C., of Tigard, Oregon currently serving in this role.
This independent auditor concluded, based upon the audit, that there was a reasonable basis for rendering an unmodified [“clean”] opinion that the Corvallis School District 509J’s financial statements for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018 are fairly presented in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals [GAAP].
The auditor’s report is presented within the district’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), annually available within six months after the close of each fiscal year.

Finance staff are proud to announce that the 2016-17 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
This marks the 29th year the district has received this recognition.
