New Principal for Franklin School

Superintendent Ryan Noss announced today that Craig Harlow has been hired as the new principal of Franklin School. Mr. Harlow, currently the principal at Ash Creek Elementary School in Independence, will begin on July 1. He will fill the vacancy left by Franklin interim principal Ms. Pat Monson, who has served in that role for the 2016-17 school year.

Mr. Harlow has more than twenty five years in education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University and a Master in Teaching degree from Seattle University. He has worked in a variety of school districts including Chehalis, Bend-LaPine, Baker, Hillsboro, and most recently Central School District. He has taught at the elementary and middle school levels and has 13 years of experience as a K-8 school principal.

Colleagues describe him as one who brings a sense of calm and thoughtfulness to his role. He is well respected by his current staff at Ash Creek Elementary School and has a track record of excellence in leadership and putting students first.

Superintendent Noss notes, “Craig leads by example; this was evident in the climate and culture that he has established at Ash Creek Elementary School. I am confident that his experience and passion for student success will serve the Franklin community well.”
