Online Registration FAQs

An Apology from Our Vendor

Many parents have encountered difficulty with the new online registration system. We were in close contact with our vendor, the Linn Benton Lincoln Educational Service District as we learned that parents and staff were having problems.   A letter was written to parents to address the situation and is shared below.

Why did the school district change to online registration?

Once our system is working properly, online registration will save parents and guardians time and will provide greater efficiency in school offices during the opening week of school. This will reduce data input time and give our staff more time to support students and families.

What if I can’t complete online registration?

School staff are available to assist parents Monday through Friday. If you do not have access to a computer or are having difficulty with the process, please be assured that school staff are happy to help.

Is my child’s information from last year already in the new online system?

Yes. Our new system, RegiStar, is securely connected to our student information system. Student information including address and contact information should display when you login with your user name and password.

What information do I need to complete online registration?

Before beginning, we recommend you gather the information that may be needed including emergency contact phone numbers and email addresses, doctor and dentist names and phone numbers, etc. You will also need to provide a working email address and your PIV/Pinnacle Parent Login ID #: (#########).

I’m getting stuck on the first step. Our address has not changed but it is not displaying. What do I do?

In some cases, parents are experiencing this problem. If your address is not displaying, please select YES and re-enter your current address. This will allow you to save the address and continue through the registration steps.

Do I have to complete the process for each of my children individually?

Yes. Our database needs to treat each student individually to account for changes in student’s status on an individual, rather than household, basis. Guardianship and household are not necessarily the same for every student.

Once I log in, what if some of my children (who are students) are not listed?

If you do not see all of your students, please call your child’s school.

Didn’t we complete paperwork last spring?

All returning students must complete online registration. This is different than forecasting for enrollment and classes that took place last spring.

I’ve tried to register online but the page is very slow and I’m having trouble. Didn’t you test the system before launching?

Other school districts in Linn and Lincoln County piloted the system last year without the system difficulties that we have been experiencing. A team comprised of district registrars and other staff had several work sessions last year to plan for this transition.

Why am I having trouble registering? When will this be fixed?

A system update earlier this month seems to have caused a disruption in the transfer of student data from our system to the RegiStar system. Technical support staff from our vendor have been working to pinpoint the problem and resolve the issue. If you have tried to register without success, we recommend that you wait for a follow-up email from your child’s school letting you know that the issue has been fixed.
