The Corvallis School District and the City of Corvallis are jointly announcing a post-meeting opportunity for the public to review the Osborn Aquatic Center Facility Condition Assessment findings and provide direct input on facility priorities. This follows the recent Community Information Meeting, where the comprehensive report was discussed.
Both the District and the City extend their sincere gratitude to all community members who attended the meeting on Monday. The engagement and valuable input provided are essential for prioritizing the necessary repairs and upgrades for this vital community asset, which is owned by the District and operated by the City.
For those who were unable to attend the in-person meeting, the District and City are ensuring that all community members have the opportunity to review the information presented and share their perspectives.

The District and the City emphasize that continued community input is vital to planning the long-term future and functionality of the Aquatic Center.
This public engagement process is built upon the recent completion of a comprehensive facility condition assessment, which is available for public review on the District’s website (including an executive summary and the full report).
The assessment was initiated to thoroughly evaluate all building systems and gain a clear understanding of the necessary repairs, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance needs. The report covers the entire facility, including the natatorium, the outdoor pool building, all pools, and the surrounding grounds. Recommendations address a wide range of needs, from code-required fixes to operational improvements.
The comprehensive assessment was commissioned following the discovery of significant structural issues last fall. Routine maintenance revealed considerable corrosion and rust in a section of the indoor pool’s roof structure, leading to the immediate closure of the indoor pools.
Following the closure, contractors installed floor-to-ceiling shoring supports, and structural engineers began testing to determine the full extent of the damage. A detailed report on these initial findings was previously provided to the City Council as part of their meeting materials for the February 3, 2025, regular meeting, and is available on the City website.
