Amara has worked in mental healthcare since 2008 when she discovered a passion for working with children and families. She takes a creative and collaborative approach to her work and prioritizes self-determination and building on existing strengths. Drawing from an attachment and developmental lens, Amara uses a blend of play therapy, psychoeducation, and cognitive strategies to support positive emotional growth. With extensive experience in trauma-informed care settings, she pays special attention to the unique experiences and wisdom each person brings with them.
In her downtime, Amara enjoys spending time with family, cooking, exploring the outdoors, gardening, and cuddling with her cats.
