Co-founder at Crispy Science, Projects Engineer at General Electric, and instructor for IE 366 (Work Systems Engineering), ENGR 391 (Engineering Economics and Project Management), and ENGR 112 (Introduction to Engineering Computing) courses at Oregon State University.
Host of “Chariots of Curiosity” talk show that airs live on KBVR, 88.7 FM in Corvallis. Cultural and Language advisor at INTO OSU. Served on the advisory board of the OSU Memorial Union and served in the ASOSU Senate and ASOSU House of Representatives as the graduate representative. Also, Sami has been the Humans of Corvallis photographer since June 2014.
Mother, Hiba, is a Syrian refugee currently living in Lebanon. Father, Ahmad, is Saudi and lives in Saudi Arabia. Two younger brothers: Daniel works in Saudi and Ali is currently a freshman student at Sami’s Alma mater KFUPM. Sami’s extended families live in both Saudi and Syria.
Hobbies and Special Interests
Dancing (Cuban salsa and ballroom), playing soccer, playing chess. Also enjoys gardening, camping, climbing, hiking Oregon trails and photography. Currently working on publishing his first book interviewing random people between Corvallis and New York in December 2015 with a tentative working title ‘What the media missed’.
