2024 School Board Recognition Month

At last night’s school board meeting, the Corvallis School District joined school districts throughout Oregon in celebrating January as School Board Recognition Month.

To show appreciation for our board, members of the Linus Pauling Mariachi Band “Mariachi Orgullo del Valle” attended the board meeting and played several different pieces. The band is under the guidance of director Valerie Gollman and is now in its third year at Linus Pauling. Many of the students performing were part of the first Mariachi Band three years ago.

“Every January, we celebrate the school board, recognize your important role as volunteers, and take time to appreciate the hours you put in,” shared Superintendent Ryan Noss. “My sincere thank you for all that you do in service to our students, staff, and community.”

More about the School Board

The primary role of the school board is to establish policies that help the district set priorities and achieve its goals. This is accomplished in partnership with the superintendent by implementing policies and programs to meet the learning needs of all students.
