School Fields Currently Closed
The following school playfields are closed and will remain closed through the summer due to construction activity.
- Bessie Coleman Elementary
- Kathryn Jones Elementary
- Letitia Carson Elementary
- Mountain View Elementary
Lincoln Elementary School playfields were not able to be grass seeded in time for the end of the growing season in October so the fields are currently closed.
- The spring growing season starts in mid to late March and is dependent on weather.
- The fields at Lincoln are presently planned to be seeded around Spring Break and will need to go through at least two mowing cycles before established enough to open up for use.
- The walking path will open at the same time as the fields.
Other Locations for Community Field Use
The following fields are open:
- Adams Elementary (subject to closure after heavy rainfall)
- Cheldelin Middle School
- College Hill (Harding Center)
- Franklin K-8
- Garfield Elementary
- Linus Pauling Middle School (subject to closure after heavy rainfall)
- Williams Field (across from Cheldelin)
- Western View Center (District Office)
High school fields are managed by the Athletic Directors at respective schools. Please contact CHS or CVHS with inquiries.
