On Monday, November 21, Crescent Valley High School will host a celebratory event honoring its robotics team for securing a U.S. patent for their “BroccoliBot” broccoli harvesting robot.
Details:
- Date and Time: Monday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
- Location: Crescent Valley High School cafeteria, 4444 NW Highland Dr.
The celebration is open to the public and includes an introduction to the BroccoliBot, remarks, recognition of student inventor alums and their adult mentors, and a viewing of the Broccoli Bot prototype.
The “BroccoliBot” broccoli harvesting robot has a sophisticated software process that allows it to recognize broccoli crowns that are ready to be harvested. The robot then adjusts the cutting blades to accurately and reproducibly cut the broccoli crown to the desired height. The Crescent Valley Robotics team did all the mechanical design, programming, machining, electrical and technical work to complete their vision.
More information about the development of the BroccoliBot and patent issuance can be found at Crescent Valley Robotics Team Issued Patent.
