Elton Kikuta has been hired as the permanent principal at Kathryn Jones Harrison Elementary School. He will fill the vacancy of the current principal, Beth Martin, who took a leave of absence for a one-year assignment as the principal at Berkeley Academy and has now accepted a position as the principal at North Star Elementary in Bend.
Mr Kikuta has been a Kathyrn Jones Harrison Elementary teacher for the last 38 years. He began this school year as the Dean of Students and stepped into the interim principal role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and a Masters of Education Degree from Oregon State University.
“I am pleased to welcome Mr. Kikuta to his new role as the Kathryn Jones Harrison principal,” said Superintendent Ryan Noss. “He is a leader who has given his whole career to the Kathryn Jones Harrison community. In his years with our district, he has touched and enriched the lives of thousands.”
