New Administrator Announced for Adams Elementary

Peter Henning has been hired as principal at Adams Elementary effective July 1, filling the vacancy left by Beth Martin, who was selected to serve as principal at Jefferson Elementary.

Mr. Henning began his career in public education as a Teach for America high school special education teacher. During his career, he has taught reading intervention and social studies and served as an Intervention & Prevention Coordinator for five years.  He has eight years of experience in school leadership as an assistant principal and principal at the middle and elementary school levels.

Most recently, he served as principal at SRU Elementary in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania.  According to his colleagues, he is an excellent school leader.  His greatest attribute is the genuine concern and compassion for students and his ability to foster a positive school culture. Henning’s strengths include effectively managing staff and maintaining a high level of engagement with students, family, and staff.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Marywood University, a Master of Education in Social Science Education from Delta State University, and a Master of Education in Administration & Supervision from Old Dominion University.

“We are excited to welcome Peter Henning to our district,” noted Superintendent Noss. “His strong leadership and years of experience will be a great addition to our elementary administrative team.”
