New Communications Coordinator Announced

Superintendent Ryan Noss announced today that Kelly Locey has been hired as the new Communications Coordinator for the Corvallis School District effective September 20. She will fill the vacancy left by Brenda Downum, who has served in this role since 2013 and is leaving the position for other pursuits.

Ms. Locey most recently worked for the Benton County Health Department serving as Communications Coordinator for the last year. Prior to that, she worked as the Adolescent Health Promotion Coordinator for the last ten years. Her experience includes managing websites and social media channels for Benton County Healthy Communities Division, Health Department, and Benton County COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center. She has experience addressing the needs of local media regarding Health Department issues, including planning and execution of community-wide releases of health information and risk communication, and community engagement.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health, Physical Education from Western Oregon University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Oregon State University.

“Kelly’s experience in public health, adolescent mental health, and her deep connections in the community will serve our district well in this important role,” said Noss. “We are pleased to welcome Kelly to our team.”
