New Partnership Announced with Casa Latinos Unidos

Superintendent Ryan Noss has announced a new partnership with Casa Latinos Unidos de Benton County, an organization founded for and by Latina/os. “Our partnership with Casa Latinos Unidos will provide additional resources to our Latino students and their families. Our community is increasingly diverse and we celebrate the ways that we can enhance learning for students of all backgrounds,” shared Noss. “Casa Latinos Unidos provides valuable services to our Latino community members and we believe this partnership will help us advance our goals around equity and inclusiveness .”

Last fall, the CSD Welcome Center opened in the district’s Western View Center to serve as a central location for students and their families to receive assistance in accessing community agencies, resources and informational referrals. With this new partnership, Casa Latinos Unidos will be relocating their offices to the Western View Center, which is located adjacent to the district administration building at 1435 SW 35th Street.  Welcome Center regular hours are Monday – Friday, 10 – 4 pm, following the school year calendar. The center is designed to be a safe place where families can access school district and local services and will be staffed jointly by the two organizations.

“Casa Latinos Unidos de Benton County is committed to work for the health and well-being, empowerment, and inclusiveness of the Latino community,” shared Executive Director Yazmin Brambila. “I’m most excited about the fact that we will be able to provide more services to families in Corvallis schools. The impact of Casa Latinos Unidos will be greater with this partnership. Education is very important and for the Latino community to have us here, Casa will be able to reach more families.”

On Friday, February 9, there will be an open house from 4:30 – 6:30 pm to celebrate this new partnership and to recognize the nine-year anniversary of the Casa Latinos Unidos de Benton County. The event is open to district families, staff, and the general public and will include refreshments, and a dance performances by 4-H Fiesta Mexicana. Guests will also find information about school district services for families, and community resources offered by Casa Latinos Unidos.
