New Technology Director Announced

Superintendent Ryan Noss announced that Gil Anspacher has been hired as Technology Director of the Corvallis School District. Mr. Anspacher will oversee the Technology Services Department that manages district network systems, hardware and software, and help desk support for staff. The department also works closely with the Teaching and Learning Department to coordinate and implement instructional technology strategies.

“We are pleased to have Gil as our new Technology Director,” shared Superintendent Noss. “He has a depth of experience in 1:1 implementation and management and is skilled in the critical areas of infrastructure and instructional technology. He will play an important role in our district as we continue to remove barriers to student learning through access to instructional tools and digital devices.”

Anspacher has worked as a science teacher, technology instructor and leader in K-12 education for more than two decades, including the last two and a half years where he served as the Technology Director at Santiam Canyon School District in Mill City, Oregon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Marine Sciences from the University of San Diego. His professional experience in technology encompasses developing and implementing a technology plan including network infrastructure, administrative and learning systems, curricular resources, and campus-wide technology resources. Last year, he developed and directed a statewide series of K-12 education technology conferences focusing on parent engagement in the digital learning process.

Anspacher shared, “I view educational technology not as an end in itself, but rather as one of many tools to facilitate the educational process. I strive to develop creative solutions to complex challenges while being open to new ideas and pathways presented by my colleagues.  I am looking forward to joining the Corvallis School District team and also working in the district where I live and where my children attend school.”
