At the November 12, 2019 school board meeting, members of the board unanimously accepted the resignation of School Board member Brandy Fortson. Director Fortson resigned their position in writing, effective November 9, 2019.
The board declared the position vacant and discussed the process to appoint an interim director for Position 6. The term of this appointment will begin as soon as the interim board member is selected and will expire on June 30, 2021.
The board will take a final vote on the application and selection process at their November 14, 2019 meeting as part of their regular agenda.
All school board positions are at-large and do not represent a specific geographic area of the district. Candidates must be a qualified voter of the district and a resident within the school district for one year as of the announced selection date. Current employees of the school district or a public charter school within the district are not eligible to serve on the school board. The selection process and applicant information will be made available as soon as possible after the meeting on November 14, 2019.
