Superintendent Ryan Noss presented the district’s 2018-19 proposed budget at the May 3 budget committee meeting. During his budget message to the committee, Superintendent Noss said “this budget is an investment plan to direct resources where needed most to help all students gain a solid educational foundation, help develop confidence in their ability to learn and grow, and provide them with the critical skills needed in a rapidly changing world.”
The proposed budget includes $3 million in key investments that align with the school board’s draft goals including funds to expand the high school schedule; increase student and family support for high school students; create two new CTE programs of study; expand alternative education programs; increase support for the mental and physical health and wellness needs of students; implement new standards-aligned instructional materials combined with technology and curriculum-based professional development; and restore a quality teacher mentoring program.
